Okay, so my last journal entry was quite a while ago and much has happened since.

I began my arts internship at my local tattooist early July, and have been there every week since. It's amazing, I'm enjoying every moment I spend in the store; drawing, observing, learning, listening. I hang off every word the tattoo artists say. I've completed 44.5 hours out of the 100 hours required for the unit/assessment. My drawing and design ideas have developed further since beginning my internship and I've built a good relationship with the artists over these past weeks, so much so I'll be able to ask for their advice and expertise once I've purchased tattooing equipment (also through one of the artists).

I finally got my blackberry side/ribs tattoo started last Thursday (20th/8th), just the outline at the moment. i used my own design based on traditional botanical drawings of blackberry brambles. I'm looking forward to colouring the rest of the tattoo in over the next few months.

I've never been so focused on what I want to achieve, and I plan to reach every single one of those goals.

GOALS:

Complete university degree (2009)
Purchase tattoo equipment (2009)
Beginning practicing (fruit, pig-skin and willing friends) (2009/2010)
Complete my first tattoo (2010)
Secure apprenticeship (2009/2010)
